The healthcare center will be 280,000 square feet.

WHITE PLAINS, NY - Plans were unveiled Wednesday for what will be the largest health care project built in Westchester County since Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in 2004.

“This project will enable us to offer outpatient services currently not available on our campus and further showcase the latest in healthcare technologies,” he said, in a prepared statement.

The pavilion will an eight-story steel and glass building that will include 185,000 square feet of ambulatory care service space—for imaging, surgery and heart and vascular care—along with a 20,000-square-foot private-room expansion for Westchester Medical Center and 75,000 square feet for physician offices.

Plans were announced at a meeting of the Westchester County Local Development Corporation, which helps make tax-exempt financing available to nonprofit institutions at no risk to taxpayers.

County Executive Rob Astorino was at the presentation and said it was a “giant boost” for healthcare and the economy.

“This is the single biggest financing for our LDC to date and by working together with Westchester Medical Center, we are improving healthcare outcomes and creating jobs, which is a winning combination,” he said.

When complete, the project is expected to generate 180 new full-time jobs, along with 225 construction jobs.
