Westchester Owes $27.8M In Back Pay To Union
The new contract with the Civil Service Employees Association 9200 makes up for the one that expired in 2011.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Westchester County will be paying its largest public labor union seven years worth of back pay, and that will set the county back $27.8 million. The new contract with the Civil Service Employees Association 9200 makes up for the one that expired in 2011.
County Executive George Latimer said everyone knew this time would come, and there's no provision in the county's $1.2 billion budget for either the back pay or the new deal with the union, the Journal News said.
The new contract contains retroactive raises for the years 2014-17 — at 1 percent — and 2018-19 — at 2 percent.
