Archbishop Stepinac running back Caleb Gilligan-Evans and wide receiver Vincent Narog both officially committed to college on March 28. Gilligan-Evans signed on the dotted line with Holy Cross and Narog put down his signature with Sacred Heart.
They join teammates Austin Taps, Prezemyslaw Popek and Jesse Gwin, who also will play the sport in college

Softball
Janet Ortiz (White Plains-River Edge '08), catcher for the Lehman College softball team, in a game with St. Elizabeth, batted 2-6, scored 3 runs, and had a game winning RBI with her bottom of the 8th inning booming doubles, as the Lightning won the battle, 16-15. She also had 7 putouts and 3 assists in the game.
In twin losses at home with N.Y. Poly on the 20th, she was the 3rd sacker in both halves, during which time she had 1 hit in 4 at bats, and had 3 putouts and 5 assists in all. Teammate Maya Guablacho (White Plains '10) patrolled right field in the nightcap, fanned twice, and had 4 putouts in the 6-2 setback. NYPoly also won game 1, 13-0.
On the 24th, in a double header at Staten Island, they lost both ends to Staten Island, 8-0 and 11-3. The opposing hurler limited the Lightning to 1 hit, but in the second game, Ortiz's bat came to life as she batted 2-3, driving in a run in the 4th inning, plus having 1 putout and an assist at the hot corner.
In the home opener with Cazenovia on the 23rd, Skidmore left fielder, Lauren Bernstein (White Plains-Masters '08) was hitless in both games, had 2 put outs in the first, and scored a run and fanned once in the second game. The Thoroughbreds won both, 3-0 and 7-5.
