White Plains Mayor Thomas Roach Elected to Leadership Post for State Conference of Mayors

Roach will serve in the position for a year.

White Plains Mayor Thomas Roach was recently elected First Vice President of the New York State Conference of Mayors, the group announced this week.

“At a time when local officials are working cooperatively and innovatively to do even more with less, Mayor Roach’s leadership will be instrumental in NYCOM’s efforts to help our cities and villages provide a high quality of life in the most efficient manner.” said Peter A. Baynes, Executive Director of the Conference of Mayors, in a statement. “Our membership will benefit greatly from his experience and vision.”

Roach will serve as First Vice President for a year. Also elected to serve as NYCOM officers for the coming year:

  • President – Mayor Richard Milne, Village of Honeoye Falls
  • Second Vice President – Mayor James Miccio, Village of Fishkill
  • Treasurer – Mayor Kathy Sheehan, City of Albany

The Conference of Mayors represents 581 cities and villages in New York State, ranging from the smallest village to the City of New York. NYCOM has been in existence since 1910.
