White Plains Wants French-American School Lawsuit Dismissed
The school is seeking to build a new campus at the site of the former Ridgeway Country Club.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — The City of White Plains is appealing a court decision to not dismiss a lawsuit over a plan to build a new campus for the French-American School of New York.
Lawyers for the city want to clarify whether Supreme Court Judge Joan Lefkowitz can compel White Plains to close a road and approve a site plan for the school, according to the Journal News.
FASNY wants to build a new school at the former Ridgeway Country Club site, which would require the closure of a road.

In January, Lefkowitz ordered the city’s Common Council to vote on the school’s special permit and site plan applications, but the city did not comply.
The city asked to have the school’s case dismissed and Lefkowitz rejected that motion in April.
