White Plains Woman, 47, Accused of Illegally Collecting $12K in Unemployment Pay

The case involves payments from 2011 and 2012.

New York State Police Saturday arrested Angela Lillard, 47, of White Plains, for Offering a False Instrument for Filing 1st Degree, A Class E Felony, in connection with her allegedly collecting over $12,000 in unemployment payments.

Lillard is accused of unlawfully collected the benefits between September of 2011 and April of 2012. False business records were generated by Lillard when she certified weekly that she was totally unemployed when in fact she was gainfully employed, state police said.

Her arrest was the result of a joint investigation conducted by the New York State Department of Labor Special Investigation Division and the New York State Police.

Lillard was issued an appearance ticket directing her to appear before the City of White Plains Court on July 1.
