Woman's Club of White Plains Presents El Centro Hispano with $10,000 Donation
Woman's Club Fundraiser Supports El Centro Hispano
White Plains, NY (Nov,10 2015) Each year The Woman’s Club of White Plains Foundation donates funds to local non-profits and the recipient of proceeds from this year’s Corks & Forks event is El Centro Hispano. “ Words can not describe how pleased we are with the turn out for this event which gets bigger each year”, commented Maryann Martin, Event Chairperson. “Being able to continue our mission of supporting local philanthropies such as El Centro Hispano is paramount to The Woman’s Club mission”, she added.
“We are very grateful for the support of the Woman’s Club and appreciate all of their efforts on our behalf,” said Isabel M. Villar, founder and executive director of El Centro Hispano. “These funds will enable us to continue our 41 year tradition of service to the Hispanic community”.
“The dynamic membership of The Woman’s Club will be expanding its outreach in 2016 with our 100th Anniversary. To commemorate this, we have an entire year of events planned which underscore our tradition of serving the community”, noted Christine Roithmayr, President of the Woman’s Club of White Plains Foundation.

The 4th Annual Corks & Forks event was a spectacular evening of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the garden of the CV Rich Mansion, followed by fabulous dinner fare in the ballroom. Over 200 guests including WP Mayor Tom Roach, David Buchwald and other notables were in attendance. A total of 29 local restaurants and specialty purveyors participated in the affair. A portion of the proceeds from this event will also help to pay for renovation projects to the historic home of the Woman’s Club, the CV Rich Mansion where many volunteer and community events are held.

The Woman’s Club of White Plains is a fellowship of women dedicated to community service for the purpose of enhancing the lives of others, as well as our own, through volunteerism. Recent recipients of the Woman’s Club philanthropic outreach include Habitat for Humanity, Grace Church Community Center, Gilda’s Place, Burke Rehabilitation Center, WPHS Scholarships, and Peace OUTside Campus, The Lindsay Bonistall Foundation among many others.
