WILLIAMSBURG— Two Jewish schools in Brooklyn evacuated Friday morning after receiving bomb threats minutes apart, prompting responses from New York City police emergency units and bomb-sniffing dogs.
The first threat came by phone at about 9:54 a.m. at Yeshivah of Flatbush Joel Braverman High School.
Six minutes later, United Talmudical Academy in Williamsburg received a similar call, according to the New York Police Department.
Emergency Service Unit officers and canine teams responded to both schools, located at 1609 Avenue J in Flatbush and 590 Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg.
No injuries were reported.
Flatbush Shmira, a volunteer community safety organization, said it was coordinating with police and local schools.
The group described the situation as under control and urged residents to follow official guidance.
