Brooklyn's Favorite Food Fest Smorgasburg Announces 2019 Vendors
Get ready for Afghan comfort food, Kombucha popsicles, egg sandwiches inspired by Japanese tamagoyaki and meatballs made by an NFL player.
WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — Brooklyn hipsters and international foodies rejoice — Smorgasburg food fest is on its way back with more eclectic vendors than ever before.
In its fourth year, Smorgasburg will return to East River State Park in Williamsburg on Saturdays and Breeze Hill in Prospect Park on Sundays starting next weekend. And, this year, Manhattan will get in on the fun. The food festival will host a Friday festival with about a fourth of its vendors every Friday, starting April 12.
The food market announced its huge line-up of food vendors for this year's Smorgasburgs this week, revealing that it is largest and most diverse list of options yet. Whether you're in the mood for Venezuelan arepas and overstuffed hot dogs or a pizza baked in the shape of a cupcake, you're in for a treat, organizers promised.

Here's a sampling of this year's options, with a full list of this year's menu online:
- 10below (Saturday + Sunday) —Thai rolled ice cream featuring flavors like strawberry made with fresh fruit and graham crackers, banana with nutella, and s’mores made with graham crackers and milk chocolate.
- Amazeballs (Saturday + Sunday) —Former NFL player Derrell Smith returns to Smorgasburg (after a brief 2017 stint) with meatballs and special sauces inspired by his Nana.
- The Better Pop (Saturday Only) —A kombucha popsicle designed with a (patented!) grid-like shape to make biting and sharing easier.
- Crack’d (Saturday + Sunday) —Four different egg sandwiches all based on Japanese tamagoyaki.
- Muzzles (Saturday Only) —A traditional German dumplinggets an upgrade when it’s rolled in butter, packed in a pretzel roll, and topped with caramelized onions, creating a hybrid dumpling-burger.
- Nansense (Saturday + Sunday) — Our new Afghan comfort food vendor joins outdoor Smorgasburg after a successful run at the winter indoor market and winning the 2018 “Rookie of the Year” award at the Vendys.
- The Pizza Cupcake (Saturday Only) — Two-bite pizzas baked in the shape of a cupcake.
And of course, here is everything you need to know about checking out these vendors this April. A night market has also already kicked off to start to food festival season and will continue to be held in April and May on Fridays at 307 Kent Ave.
