A Dog On The Williamsburg Bridge Brings Chaos To Subway
M and J trains were stalled for about a half an hour as crews retrieved a dog from the subway tracks, officials said.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — A dog caught on the subway tracks of the Williamsburg Bridge that wreaked havoc on train service Wednesday night has been brought to safety, officials said.
MTA officials said around 9:30 p.m. that a dog on the bridge tracks was causing certain M and J trains to run at slower speeds. Twenty minutes later, more M, J and Z trains were delayed as crews tried to retrieve the dog.

Some trains stopped short, such as the M trains that only went as far as Marcy Avenue, so that the dog could be taken off the tracks, officials said.
Crews said the dog had safely been removed from the tracks by 10 p.m. but some Twitter users said service did not completely resume until later.

One train was sent backwards on the bridge so that NYPD could clear the area, MTA told a rider. Another delay was caused by power being turned back on after it was cut to stop the trains, officials said.
