Hipster Thieves Put Credit Card Skimmers On Machines In Williamsburg Stores, Police Say
Skimmers were found in the Brooklyn Harvest Market on North Fifth Street and the Food Town on North Third Street in Williamsburg.

WILLIAMSBURG — Police are hunting two hipster thieves suspected of putting skimming devices on two Williamsburg market credit card readers.
Surveillance photos captured two men putting a skimmer — a device that scans the personal information stored in a credit card’s magnetic strip — on a credit card reader inside Food Town at 159 N. 3rd St. around 2:15 p.m. on May 10, according to police.
Police believe the same two men placed another skimmer on a credit card reader in Brooklyn Harvest Market at 25 N. 5th St. around 4 p.m. on March 22.

Police describe the suspects as two bearded men wearing black hoodies and hats — one sported a baseball cap, the other was clad in black knit cap.
