Man Chanting N-Word On L Train Is 'Not That Sorry,' Report Says

Paul Lawson said that he was "trying to make a point" when he screamed racial slurs on the L train Saturday, according to Gothamist.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — The man caught on video chanting the N-word on an L train said he was just trying to “make a point,” according to a report.

Paul Lawson is “not that sorry” that he screamed racial slurs on a Brooklyn-bound L train Saturday, Gothamist reported Tuesday.

“I feel bad I used that word but I was making a point,” Lawson wrote in post on Facebook, which Gothamist reported was later deleted. “It’s the first f---ing amendment and look at the liberal mob beating up the peaceful protester.”

Lawson wrote his comment in response to video that shows him sipping on a Lime-A-Rita and chanting the N-word before a crowd of straphangers shove him off the train and throw soup in his face.

A day after the story broke, another straphanger identified Lawson as the man who can be seen in Twitter footage being shoved off the G train in May.

Joe Fuller, the man who took the video, told Gothamist Lawson yelled homophobic and racial slurs for 20 minutes.

“The guy punches him in the face twice and the doors shut on him,” Fuller said. “Everyone clapped."

Lawson did not respond to a request for comment.
