Man Killed In Shooting Outside East Williamsburg NYCHA Building

EAST WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — Police are investigating the murder of a man who was killed over the weekend in front of the Cooper Houses NYCHA complex.

Officers were called to 295 Jackson Street just after 2:30 a.m. on Saturday after a man was shot in front of the building, police said. When they got there, police saw 27-year-old Jonathan Ramos with gunshot wounds to his torso.

Emergency responders brought Ramos to Woodhull Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.

Ramos lived just down the street from where he was shot in another Cooper Houses building on Kingsland Avenue, records show.

Police said there are no arrests in yet and that the investigation is ongoing.
