Teen Stabs Teen In The Stomach During Williamsburg Playground Fight, Police Say

The two 14-year-old boys fought in a playground at 215 Heyward Street on Thursday morning, police said.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — A 14-year-old boy stabbed a fellow student in the stomach during a playground argument Thursday morning, police said.

The two 14-year-old boys began to fight in a school playground at 215 Heyward St. around 11 a.m., police said.

One 14-year-old grabbed a pair of scissors after the other touched his skateboard and stabbed him in the stomach, DNAinfo New York reported.

The victim reported his attack at the 90th precinct and was then rushed to Woodhull Hospital in unknown condition around 1:20 p.m., according to DNAinfo and the FDNY.

The 14-year-old who wielded the scissors has been arrested and charged with assault, reported DNAinfo.

It was not immediately clear whether the students attended Beginning With Children Charter School II or Juan Morel Campos Secondary School — which are both housed in the Heyward Street building — as the Department of Education did not respond immediately to a request for comment.

This is the second stabbing to occur near the Heyward Street playground in the past six months — one man was killed and another injured near the school after a late-night soccer game, according to a Daily News report.
