Tiny Greenpoint Building Will Become Tiny Mexican Restaurant
Chef Justin Bazdarich of Speedy Romeo will head the team at Oxomoco, a new Mexican eatery coming to 128 Greenpoint Ave.

GREENPOINT, BROOKLYN — A tiny Greenpoint building is about to become a tiny Mexican restaurant.
The owners of Oxomoco have begun hiring staff for their new Mexican restaurant at 128 Greenpoint Ave. between Manhattan and Franklin Avenues, according to a Craigslist ad posted earlier this month.
The tiny eatery — with 85 seats inside and another 30 in the 50-square-foot backyard — will feature a wood-fired oven in the kitchen and artisanal mezcals, tequilas and California wine at the bar, owners said.

The kitchen staff will be lead by Chef Justin Bazdarich of the Clinton Hill pizza joint Speedy Romeo.
"The food and flavors will span Mexico," according to the ad. "This will be an all wood-fired kitchen."

The restaurant owners, working under the name Cup of Nachos LLC, applied for a liquor license on April 5 that is still pending, state records show.
It was not immediately clear when Oxomoco is expected to open.
