Williamsburg Houses Shooter Charged With Murder, Police Say
David Green was charged with murder for fatally shooting Byron Elder in broad daylight outside the Williamsburg Houses last Friday.

WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN – The man who shot another man dead in broad daylight on a Williamsburg street Friday has been arrested and now faces murder charges, police said.
David Green, 33, shot 22-year-old Byron Elder in the torso at 12:30 p.m. in the courtyard of the Williamsburg Houses at 203 Scholes Street, police said.
A Scholes Street resident, who declined to identify herself, said she saw a man in a hooded sweatshirt shoot Elder in the chest and flee into the Williamsburg Housing courtyards.

Pedro Lebron, 74, watched as a crowd of people gathered around Elder and tried, unsuccessfully, to revive him.
Emergency responders arrived and rushed Elder to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Green, of Brooklyn, surrendered himself to police at the 90th precinct on Tuesday around 12:10 p.m. and was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
