NYPD officer Anthony Avosso masturbated in cop cars and exposed himself on the subway in front of female colleagues, prosecutors said

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — A cop who exposed himself and masturbated in front of five fellow officers in squad cars, the station house and on the subway now faces criminal charges, prosecutors announced Friday.
Police officer Anthony Avosso, 31, was arraigned on public lewdness and exposure charges for dropping his pants while on duty with the 60th Precinct in Brooklyn, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office said.
The NYPD’s Internal Affairs Bureau launched an investigation on Feb. 16 after his fellow officer told the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association that Avosso has exposed himself to her three times, most recently the night before, prosecutors said.

Investigators discovered that five women officers in the 60th Precinct, which covers Brighton Beach and Coney Island, had been forced to see more of Avosso than was professionally appropriate, prosecutors said.
Avosso masturbated next to a woman police officer in a marked police car during an overnight tour until she was forced to leave, said prosecutors.

The anti-crime cop unzipped while sitting next to another officer on the subway from the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office to the 60th Precinct station in West Brighton, prosecutors said.
Avosso exposed himself to a probationary officer, who had recently graduated from the Police Academy, while quizzing her about her career goals, said prosecutors.
And he exposed himself twice — once inside the station house and once in a police car returning from court — to a fifth police officer, prosecutors said.
Avosso was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court on Friday then released without bail, prosecutors said.
He is expected to return to court on May 2 prosecutors said.
