Kick-Off Rally/Press Conference @ Golden Farm Supermarket

We are currently working on a campaign to help the workers at the Golden Farm supermarket on Church Ave. and E 4th St. For many years the stock workers were paid below minimum wage and without any overtime ($450 for a 72-hour work week). After a Dept. of Labor investigation last year, they started getting minimum wage, but we are working with them to get back pay and a contract with sick days, some vacations and job security.

In order to accomplish this we are holding a Week of Action next week, with an event each day. One of our largest events will be a Kick-Off Rally/Press Conference (Sun. April 22 @ 2pm) so come out and show your support of the workers. The workers have been working alongside our organization New York Communities for Change (NYCC), and gained support and involvement from Council Member Brad Lander and Senator Eric Adams.

See you Sunday outside of Golden Farm!
