New Exhibition At Brooklyn Museum Spotlights Major Contemporary African Artist

Head up to the fifth floor of the Brooklyn Museum to be surrounded by more than thirty dazzling large-scale three dimensional works in wood and metal created by Ghanaian born artist El Anatsui, one of the most innovative figures in contemporary abstract art today.  

His work has been exhibited around the world and is collected by several major museums. The artist created the pieces using everyday materials like tin cans, copper wire and bottle caps which combine into forms infused with symbolic meaning. The exhibition is on view until August 4.
