12 Year-Old Charged After Middle-School Fight in Yorktown

The Yorktown resident has been charged with juvenile delinquency.

YORKTOWN, NY — A 12-year-old boy has been charged with juvenile delinquency after a hallway fight at Mildred Strang Middle School. Yorktown police said if the child had been an adult, he would have been charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.

The fight occurred Monday morning. The boy who was charged apparently punched another 12-year-old boy in the face several times. The victim suffered a concussion as well as bruising, police said. (For more neighborhood stories, sign up for Patch’s daily newsletter, news alerts and updates.)

The Yorktown resident was charged with juvenile delinquency Wednesday. He has a hearing scheduled at the Department of Probation Oct. 10.
