12-Year-Old Stole Cellphone: Yorktown Police

He was left in the custody of his mother.

YORKTOWN, NY — A 12-year-old from Mohegan Lake faces a juvenile delinquency charge that would be a petty larceny charge if he were an adult.

On Thursday Yorktown police were called to the Spring store on East Main Street in Mohegan about a cell-phone larceny that had happened Sept. 18. On Saturday, after reviewing store surveillance video, police made contact with the pre-teen and his mother. The stolen cellphone was recovered.

The boy is due to appear with his mother at the Westchester County Department of Probation on Oct. 11. He was left at his home in the custody of his mother.
