
YORKTOWN, NY — A 12-year-old boy from Mohegan Lake was arrested for allegedly stealing a dirt bike. Yorktown police said they received a report of the theft of the bike July 10 from a Clover Road residence.
Police investigated using video surveillance footage obtained by the homeowner and was able to identify a suspect involved in the theft.
On July 31, police contacted the 12-year-old and his mother.

After speaking with him he was charged with juvenile delinquency.
The underlying charge of attempted petit larceny would be a misdemeanor if the child were charged as an adult.

The child was issued an appearance ticket directing him to appear at the Westchester County Department of Probation with his mother Aug. 7.
He was left at his residence in the custody of his mother.
The child’s name was not released by the police.
