13YO Accused Of Attempted Assault In Yorktown
The incident occurred at the Jefferson Valley Mall, police said.
YORKTOWN, NY — A 13-year-old from Dobbs Ferry was accused of trying to assault another person. Yorktown police said the teenager, whose name was not released due to eligibility for youthful offender status, was charged with juvenile delinquency.
Police said the underlining charge, had the teen been an adult, would have been misdemeanor third-degree attempted assault.
On March 31, police responded to the Jefferson Valley Mall for a report of a fight in progress.

When officers got there, they found a male victim who had been punched and kicked by a group of three others.
An investigation at the scene identified one of the group as the 13-year-old Dobbs Ferry boy, police said.

He voluntarily surrendered at Yorktown Police Headquarters with a parent April 15, where he was charged and released.
The teen was issued a juvenile appearance ticket directing him to appear at the Westchester County Department of Probation April 30.
