18YO Arrested For Marijuana Possession In Yorktown

A police officer on routine patrol saw an occupied car parked in Yorktown and investigated.

YORKTOWN, NY — An 18-year-old Mahopac man was arrested for having marijuana. Yorktown police said the man, whose name is being withheld due to eligibility for youthful offender status, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

A police officer on routine patrol saw an occupied car parked on Richard Place in the Town of Yorktown Nov. 30.

An investigation found that the 18-year-old, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was in possession of marijuana illegally.

He was arrested at the scene and taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.

The man was released on his own recognizance.

He was issued an appearance ticket and is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Dec. 18.
