3 Children Accused Of Spray Painting School Property

Police said the underlying charge if they weren't juveniles would be a misdemeanor.

YORKTOWN, NY — Three children were accused of spray painting graffiti on an elementary school. Yorktown police said they arrested two 12-year-olds and a 13-year-old, all from Mohegan Lake, and charged them with juvenile delinquency.

The underlying charge is making graffiti, a misdemeanor.

Police said, on Aug. 25 and Saturday, officers investigated two separate graffiti complaints at George Washington Elementary School, at 3634 Lexington Avenue.

The children were identified as the one who spray painted graffiti on the school's property.

They were processed, issued appearance tickets and released on their own recognizance to a parent.

The children are due to appear at the Westchester County Department of Probation Sept. 15.
