5 Westchester Teens Accused Of Robbery In Yorktown

Police said they displayed a replica of a gun when they stole money from the victim.

YORKTOWN, NY — A group of five young men, ranging in age from 15 to 18, were accused of robbery in Yorktown.

The Yorktown Police Department said, around 8 p.m. Saturday, a report was received from someone who said he was threatened with a gun in the parking lot of 2026 Saw Mill River Road.

An investigation found one of the young men arranged to meet the victim in order to sell a vape pen.

Police said the group acted together to steal $20 from the victim while displaying what appeared to be a black-colored pistol.

The investigation identified the five young men and found a replica Glock 17 CO2 airsoft pistol, police said.

All five were charged with second-degree robbery, a felony.

The 15-, 16- and 17-year-olds from Yorktown and a 16-year-old from Peekskill were processed and arraigned by a judge who issued a temporary order of protection on behalf of the victim. They were released on their own recognizance to their respective parents.

They were due to appear in the Felony Youth Part of the Westchester County Court Monday. Their names were not released due to juvenile or adolescent offender status.

The 18-year-old from Yorktown was seen before a judge who issued a temporary order of protection on behalf of the victim and released to the care of his parent. He was ordered to return to the Yorktown Police Department Sunday for arraignment. His name was not released due to eligibility for youthful offender status.
