Arrest Made In Year-old Domestic Dispute

Bronx Central Booking notified the police he was in their custody.

YORKTOWN, NY — Police arrested a Bronx resident after a reported domestic incident from more than a year ago. Yorktown police charged Victor Ruiz, 26, of the Bronx, with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony.

Police said that, around 8:30 p.m. Nov. 14, 2017, officers responded to a domestic incident at a Yorktown residence.

The investigation found that Ruiz and the victim began arguing, during which the woman locked herself in a bedroom.

Police said that Ruiz caused damage of more than $350 to the bedroom doors, the bedroom ceiling, a window, a mirror and a coffee pot.

He fled from the scene before the police arrived. A warrant was obtained for his arrest.

On March 6, Yorktown police were notified by Bronx Central Booking that Ruiz was in their custody.

A Yorktown police officer was sent and he was placed under arrest.

Ruiz was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court, where an order of protection was also issued protecting the victim.

His bail and bond were set at $5,000.

Ruiz was sent to the Westchester County Jail and is due back in the Yorktown Justice Court March 12.
