Bail Jumper Found At Rikers Island: Police

Police said the man failed to show up for a court date in 2017.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Putnam Valley man was arrested in Yorktown for jumping bail. Yorktown police said Irving Baisley, 44, of Oscawana Lake Road in Putnam Valley, was charged with third-degree bail jumping, a misdemeanor, and two underlying charges of petit larceny.

On Oct. 25, 2016, Yorktown police arrested Baisley on a charge of petit larceny. On June 1, 2017, he failed to appear for a scheduled court date relating to the petit larceny case, and a bench warrant was subsequently issued.

Yorktown police responded to Rikers Island correctional facilities where Baisley was in custody on unrelated charges July 24.

He was arrested on the two outstanding bench warrants.

Following processing at Yorktown police headquarters, Baisley was being held pending arraignment.
