Bail Jumping Leads To Misdemeanor Charge: PD

Police said the initial charge was drug-related.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Dutchess County resident was arrested after being accused of jumping bail back in 2017. Yorktown police said Christopher R. Valazquez, 33, of Holmes, was charged with third-degree bail jumping, a misdemeanor.

Police said, on Oct. 12, 2017, Valazquez did not appear as scheduled at the Yorktown Justice Court for a charge of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and a bench warrant was subsequently issued.

He voluntarily surrendered Thursday at the Yorktown Police Department and was placed under arrest.
