Car Crash Leads To Drug Arrest In Yorktown
Police said the man was also operating a vehicle while his driving privileges were suspended.
YORKTOWN, NY — An automobile crash in Jefferson Valley led to the arrest of a Mahopac man for drug-related charges. Yorktown Police charged him with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of hypodermic instrument and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, misdemeanors, and unlicensed operation, a violation.
On Nov. 2, around 5 p.m., police officers responded to a car crash at East Main Street and Route 6 in Jefferson Valley.
An investigation at the scene found that the man was driving the vehicle without having a drivers license and while his driving privilege suspended for failing to answer a summons, police said.

Police also said they found he was in possession of heroin and a hypodermic needle.
The man was taken to Yorktown Police Department where he was processed on the charges and released on $100 bail to a family member.

His is next scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court Dec. 5.
