Chilly Winds, Possible Snow: Yorktown's Christmas Week Weather

In the countdown to Christmas, there are always things to take care of. The weather is going to make it trickier. Here are the details.

YORKTOWN, NY — In the countdown to Christmas Day, there are always things to take care of, and it looks as if the weather is going to make getting those things done a little trickier. Parts of the Hudson Valley will see colder temperatures and wind chills Wednesday and Thursday. Last-minute shopping toward the end of the week will be challenged by the chance of rain.

The good news — for some — is that snow is in the forecast in all parts of the region for Christmas Day, though in the mid-Hudson Valley there is a chance for rain and snow.

That said, traveling on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day might be complicated by the weather.

For the record, according to AccuWeather.com, a white Christmas in the United States is defined as having 1 inch or more snow on the ground the morning of Dec. 25. Whether that will come to fruition in the Hudson Valley, only time will tell.
