Citizens for a Progressive Yorktown Morphs into Government Watchdog
Co-founder Bill Primavera invites residents to a meeting March 19.
Citizens for a Progressive Yorktown will hold its first advocacy group meeting March 19.
The main focus will be to expand its mission from promoting intelligent business development in Yorktown to monitoring the governmental process and reporting that information to the town’s citizens, said co-founder Bill Primavera.
“What has sparked the revitalization of Citizens for a Progressive Yorktown are activities, most disappointing, involving certain elected officials in Yorktown, recently reported in the press, which cannot stand. We will address these issues and others moving forward to keep our government open and clean,” Primavera said.

Specifically he’s talking about a conflict between himself and town Councilwoman Susan Siegel described in the Feb. 17 edition of the Northern Westchester Examiner. Reporter Rick Pezzullo wrote that Siegel had gotten in touch with the town’s building inspector about visiting Primavara’s Hickory Street home to see whether Primavera was following the conditions of a special us permit for working there. He and his wife also own a home in Shrub Oak.
“This was a violation of my Constitutional rights and I am suing her,” Primavera told Patch.
