1. Salary increases
In an item not on the published agenda, the board voted for salary increases for all elected officials and department heads retroactive to January, 2012. The increases range from 1.5% to 1.75%.

2. Auction update
Town Clerk Roker gave the board an update on the status of the planned auction of town-owned properties taken in foreclosure (in-rem) and the board authorized increasing the payment to Bob Killeen, who will be handling the auction, to $300/hour up to $5,000, from the previously agreed sum of $2,000. There will be no minimum bids for the parcels.

3. Shallow Creek
The board approved two separate license agreements for Rocco Cambieri to operate a restaurant in the clubhouse and a Par 3 golf course on the remaining portion of the site.

4. Plastic bag ban
The board did not appear receptive to a proposal by a resident to enact a ban on the use of plastic bags in all retail establishments.

5. Greenwood Street Organic Recycling Facility
As R&S Waste Services was not able to process the backlog within the 90-day term of the license, the board extended the license for another 90 days. Highway Superintendent Paganelli anticipates it will take at least two months before the board can decide on a long term operating plan for the facility.

6. Senior Living Center (East Main Street, Mohegan Lake)
The applicant and the board continued to discuss options for providing ingress and egress from the site from and onto Route 6. The board does not want access to Strawberry Road, except possibly for emergency use. As the board had a generally positive sense about the overall plan, the applicant will move forward and prepare at least three alternate ingress/egress options and return to the board.
