Crash Death May Have Resulted From 'Speeding Contest': Troopers

Any witnesses to the moments leading to the crash, who have not yet spoken to authorities, are being asked to contact New York State Police.

YORKTOWN, NY — Police have identified the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash, and are asking anyone who witnessed the moments leading up to the crash to come forward.

The New York State Police were dispatched to the rollover crash on Monday, at around 7:20 p.m. The crash took place on the Taconic State Parkway southbound near Granite Knolls Park in Yorktown.

Troopers determined that a 2015 BMW M5 operated by Ramon A. Feliu Disla, 33, of Manhattan, struck a guide rail at high speed and rolled over.

Feliu Disla was ejected from the vehicle, according to investigators. Despite the life-saving techniques performed by good Samaritans, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say that several miles north of the crash, Feliu Disla may have had a speeding contest with an unknown motorcycle.

State police ask that any witnesses that have not yet spoken to authorities are asked to call 914-769-2600, and reference case# 11927228.

This is an ongoing investigation, according to the NYSP.
