Croton Woman Accused Of Drug Possession

She was a passenger in a car that was stopped for a traffic violation.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Croton-on-Hudson woman was accused of having illegal drugs. Yorktown police charged Amanda Azzaro, 33, of Croton-on-Hudson, with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.

Police said they stopped a vehicle on Baptist Church Road around 10:11 p.m. Nov. 6 for a traffic violation.

During the stop, the officer found Azzaro, who was a passenger, was in possession of more than 25 grams of marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms, a hallucinogenic substance.

She was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing.

Azzaro was arraigned and released on her own recognizance to appear in Yorktown Justice Court Dec. 4.
