CT Man Arrested For Strangling, Trying To Assault Woman
The man turned himself in the next day at police headquarters.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Connecticut man was arrested May 6 after he allegedly choked a woman and tried to assault her. Yorktown police said James S. Franco, 41, of Roundhill Road in Greenwich, CT, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, and criminal obstruction of breathing and third-degree attempted assault, misdemeanors.
Police said they received a call around 11 pm May 5 about an assault at a Yorktown residence.
An investigation found that Franco had strangled the woman, tried to assault her and then left the scene, police said.

Additionally, officers said he had violated a duly served Town of Yorktown Justice Court order of protection.
Franco turned himself in May 6 at police headquarters and was arrested.

He was arraigned in court and the judge issued a temporary order of protection on behalf of the victim.
Bail was set at $5,000, which Franco could not post.
He was turned over to the custody of the Westchester County Department of Corrections and is due back in court May 10.
