Dog Runs At Large, Bites Someone: Police

Police said the incident happened in May in Yorktown.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown woman was accused of allowing her dog to run off leash and bite someone. Yorktown police said Marilyn Rivera-Alvarado, 50, of Yorktown, was charged with the town code violation "dog at large."

Police said, around 6:30 p.m. May 13, an officer responded to Beaver Drive for a report of a dog bite.

The subsequent investigation found that Rivera-Alvarado's dog was running at large at the time.

She was served with a criminal summons Wednesday.

Rivera-Alvarado was released on her own recognizance after being processed on the charge.

She is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Court Sept. 8.
