Domestic Dispute Leads To Assault, Theft Charges: PD
Police said he took the woman's phone and disable another so she couldn't call for help.
YORKTOWN, NY — Police arrested a Yorktown Heights man after they responded to a report of a domestic dispute. Yorktown police said Demetrios Doupis, 38, of Yorktown Heights, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal mischief and third-degree attempted assault, misdemeanors.
Police said, around 3:45 a.m. Sept. 1, officers responded to a Yorktown residence for a domestic dispute.
An investigation found that Doupis grabbed the victim by her hair and hit her in the head with a chair, police said, injuring her.

He also took her phone and disabled another one, preventing her from being able to call for help, police said.
Doupis also took the woman's car keys, according to the authorities.

He was arrested at the scene and taken to police headquarters.
After processing, Doupis was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court Sept. 24.
