Drunken Driving Arrest After Leaving 2 Crashes

The man faces two felonies and other charges, police said.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Putnam County man was arrested and charged with felony drunken driving after he allegedly left the scene of two accidents. Yorktown police said officers responded around 2:40 p.m. Aug. 28 to two car crashes where one of the vehicles had left the scene.

An investigation found that both crashes involved the same vehicle.

Police said that officers located the vehicle on Bonnie Brae Drive, which was being driven by Franklin Culcay-Suconota, 29, of Mahopac.

Police said he was driving while intoxicated with one prior conviction in less than 10 years, making it a felony.

Culcay-Suconota was also driving while his privilege to do so was revoked for a previous conviction of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of 0.18 percent or more, police said.

Police also said he got around the use of a court-mandated interlock device and left the scene of a property damage automobile crash.

Culcay-Suconota was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated with one prior conviction in less than 10 years and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, felonies, circumvent interlock device, a misdemeanor, and move from lane unsafely and leaving the scene of a property damage accident, traffic infractions.

He was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court Aug. 28.

Culcay-Suconota was sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu $10,000 bail or $15,000 bond.

He was due to reappear in court Sept. 4
