Dry, But Cold: Hudson Valley's Weekend Weather

WIth clear to partly cloudy skies, this weekend might be a good time to check out the Geminids meteor shower.

Looks like this weekend in the Hudson Valley will be the time to get out and do some shopping, finish putting up the outdoor Christmas lights, take care of errands or even take a day trip. Meteorologists said that an area of high pressure stretching from the northern Plains to New England is forecast to crawl eastward.

"This weather system, combined with a storm over northeastern Canada, will keep the dry air in place," said AccuWeather senior meteorologist Alex Sosnowski. "Much of this swath could certainly stand a stretch of dry weather, but it will be cold."

The skies will be partly cloudy to clear, so it might be a good time to check out the Geminids meteor shower, which is ongoing now and set to peak Dec. 13-14.
