Dutchess County Man Arrested For Driving With Suspended License

Police said he had multiple speeding arrested within the last 18 months.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Poughkeepsie man was arrested in Yorktown for driving without a license. Yorktown police charged Joseph Monserrate-Saquicela, 31, of Poughkeepsie, with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and no/inadequate brake/stop lamps, speed in zone and uninspected motor vehicle, traffic infractions.

Police said an officer stopped a car on Croton Lake Road (Route 129) at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 15.

Monserrate-Saquicela was identified by his state-issued non-drivers ID.

Police said he was speeding and driving without adequate brake lights.

A routine check found that Monserrate-Saquicela was driving while his privilege to do so had been suspended four times on two dates for failing to answer summonses, as well as three speeding violations or misdemeanors in 18 months, police said.

Authorities said the car he was driving was also uninspected.

Monserrate-Saquicela was taken to Yorktown Police Department where he was process and released on $150 bail.
