Dutchess Man Accused Of Felony Drug Possession: PD

Police were initially called about a suspicious vehicle.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Dutchess County man faces a felony drug charge after being accused of driving with a suspended license. Yorktown police said Edward Negron, 59, of Wappingers Falls, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, misdemeanors.

Police said officers responded around 5 p.m Tuesday to a report of a suspicious vehicle, which they found in the 1700 block of Baldwin Road.

Negron was identified as the driver and a computer check revealed that his privilege to drive in New York had been suspended multiple times for failure to answer a summons.

Additionally, police said he was in possession of heroin and crack cocaine.

Negron was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he was processed and held pending an arraignment.
