Fake Inspection Sticker Leads To Arrest

Police initially stopped the man because they said he had an amplified exhaust.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Peekskill man was accused of having a fake inspection sticker for his car. Yorktown police charged Cristian David Rodriguez-Pulido, 20, of Peekskill, with third-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and false inspection certificate, misdemeanors, and amplified exhaust, a traffic infraction.

Police said, around 5:15 p.m. March 23, an officer on routine patrol saw a vehicle going east on Hanover Street that had a loud exhaust.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Rodriguez-Pulido from his driver's license.

An investigation found he was in possession of a forged 2019 state inspection sticker.

Rodriguez-Pulido was arrested and taken to police headquarters.

He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court April 23.
