Felony DWI Charge For Driver In Ditch: Yorktown Police

Yorktown police accused a Mahopac man of driving drunk Friday on East Main Street.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Mahopac man faces a felony drunken driving charge after a 1-car crash at lunchtime Friday.

Yorktown police said they were called about a vehicle that had gone off East Main Street and into a ditch at 12:04 p.m. Their investigation found that the driver had crossed over the westbound lane before going off the road. Alleging that he was intoxicated, they arrested him and took him to Yorktown Police Headquarters. He was processed and released without bail to a third party.

Donald F. Macneil, 54, is due in Yorktown town Court June 16 to answer charges of driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction for DWI within 10 years, a felony; and moving from a lane unsafely, an infraction.
