Fisticuffs During Soccer Match Injures Rival On Opposing Team
A victim told Yorktown police that a member of the other team punched him in the head, causing a laceration.
YORKTOWN, NY — A friendly soccer match turned not quite so friendly this weekend.
Yorktown police say they arrested a 30-year-old Mahopac resident and charged him with misdemeanor third degree assault after a fight at a soccer game.
On Sunday, around 11:34 a.m., the Yorktown Police Department received a report of a fight at Navajo Fields.

Police say a fight broke out between two teams of players during a soccer game. A victim told police that Sammer Irias punched him in the head, causing a laceration. Irias was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.
A temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim and Irias was released on his own recognizance.
