Free tax preparation at the Hart Library in Shrub Oak

The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program has helped local residents for decades, particularly seniors and people with low to moderate income

You might start seeing listings around the county for the free tax assistance service provided by AARP Tax-Aide volunteers, who are trained and IRS-certified each year to make sure they know about and understand the latest changes and additions to the tax code.

They also complete course modules for adhering to standards of conduct and keeping your sensitive documents and secure.

You can make an appointment to have your taxes done at the John C. Hart Memorial Library on Mondays, February 5th – April 15th. Appointments can also be made at the Peekskill Neighborhood Center (in the same building as the Field Library) on Fridays.
