Hazardous Weather, Flooding Possible Saturday In Hudson Valley

The NWS cautions that when encountering flooded roads, turn around. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

More hazardous weather outlooks have been issued for the Hudson Valley for Saturday. The National Weather Service said — for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties — heavy showers and thunderstorms Saturday afternoon could lead to localized flooding.

For Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties, the hazardous outlook said that there is a chance of thunderstorms, with locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds.

Additionally, for northeastern Ulster, northwestern Dutchess and southwestern Columbia, there is a flood advisory in effect until 4 p.m. affecting urban and small streams.
