Hazardous Weather Outlooks For Parts Of Hudson Valley Tuesday

In some areas, there is the threat of 1-inch or larger hail.

Parts of the Hudson Valley are under Hazardous Weather Outlooks from the National Weather Service for Tuesday. For Orange, Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester, an upper level disturbance will allow for the development of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon.

The NWS said there is an isolated severe threat with the strongest storms during the afternoon, with damaging winds and hail the primary threat.

For Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties, there is a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon ahead of a cold front and an upper level disturbance.

The main threats for the three counties are large hail 1 inch in diameter or greater and damaging winds.

The thunderstorms will move southwest to northeast at 35 to 40 mph.
