Teatown's Hudson River EagleFest returns to Croton Point Park Feb. 3 for the 12th annual festival -- you can get tickets there.

More than 150 bald eagles, once an endangered species, spend the winter along Hudson Valley waterways.

And once again, thousands of humans will flock to Teatown Lake Reservation’s annual EagleFest.

Tickets sold at the venue on the day of the event will be $15/adults (12+), $10/children (6-11) and free for children 5 and under. Discounted general admission tickets are available online until 5 p.m. Wednesday at www.teatown.org.

This celebration of the resurgence of the U.S.A.’s national bird runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 6 and is expected to attract more than 3,000 attendees. The event promises: fun and unique educational opportunities with eagles and other majestic birds; guided and independent eagle viewing; live raptor shows; bus tours and bird walks; children’s activities; displays from 25 local environmental organizations and more!

In 2015 more than 36 eagles were seen at one viewing location along the river.

Entertaining and educational shows will take place all day long in The Eagle Theatre and live music will take place in the Eaglet Stage under heated tents at Croton Point Park in Croton-On-Hudson, NY.

Guests can enjoy eagle viewing and activities at locations along the Hudson River. Each viewing area is staffed by eagle experts with spotting scopes. When it’s time to warm up, attendees can take a break in the heated tents/buildings at the following sites:

  • Boscobel House and Gardens, Garrison
  • Croton Boat Ramp at Croton-Harmon Train Station (Sponsored by Saw Mill River Audubon)
  • George’s Island Park, Montrose (Sponsored by Saw Mill River Audubon)
  • New Croton Dam (Co-Sponsored by Bedford Audubon and NYC Department of Environmental Conservation)
  • Peekskill Riverfront Green (Sponsored by the City of Peekskill)
  • Steamboat River Park, Verplanck
  • Westmoreland Sanctuary, Mt. Kisco

Award-winning RiverMarket Bar and Kitchen, an upscale new American restaurant located in Tarrytown, will serve savory samples of signature dishes (for purchase.) In addition, other dishes, as well as kid-friendly food and beverage offerings will be available from Ossining’s Wobble Café.

This year, EagleFestwill showcase local talent with musical performances from: Annie DiRusso a Singer Songwriter from Croton; Daisy Jopling a classical rock violinist; Joe Duraes, an electrified acoustic alt-rock group from Montrose and more!

In the event of severe weather, the alternate date for EagleFest will be Sunday, Feb. 7.

Attendees coming from Manhattan or Poughkeepsie can take Metro-North trains to Croton-Harmon Train Station. Special Eagle Train Cars at 9:47 am from Grand Central and 10 am from Poughkeepsie will run that day to Croton-Harmon. Along the way, birds can be viewed with guest naturalists sponsored by Wave Hill.

Free shuttle buses will bring attendees to/from the Croton-Harmon Train Station to Croton Point Park throughout the day. To participate in this event, guests must purchase a regular train ticket from Metro North. For details visit: www.teatown.org.
