Talk at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18 is open free to the public at the Little Red Schoolhouse on Locust Avenue.

Historian Anthony Czarnecki will present a powerful PowerPoint program in words and pictures, illustrating how new and original research has revealed why President Abraham Lincoln made a clandestine journey in June 1862 to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in the middle of the Civil War. He will explain what Lincoln did during his three-day stay in the Hudson River Valley, and how historychanged as a result of his secret visit.

Anthony Czarnecki of Cortlandt Manor has authored articles on Lincoln in Westchester Historian Magazine and The New York History Journal. He is Past President of The Lincoln Society in Peekskill and a three- term Trustee of the Westchester County Historical Society.
